in mathematics the term arbitrary refers to a constant that has not been assigned value.  though it could be argued that no decision to photograph is arbitrary, i found this a fitting term to describe a certain kind of space.  these are the spaces that we pass by and through everyday, perhaps not pausing to reflect upon their subtle beauty.  here are some of the stages on which life’s everyday dramas are played.
